Sight/seeing I and II, 2023
Coconut leaf (from kueh celorot), lenses, wire
21cm x 15cm x 2.7cm and 3.2cm diameter x 10cm
Looking through sight/seeing I fractures the world into pieces. Understanding the terrain in front of you is nearly impossible and navigation becomes difficult.
Sight/seeing II looks much like a miniature telescope. But thwarting the expectation of seeing far, the end of the device is fitted with a magnifying lens. Only by going close can you see anything.
